마리아는 엘튼 존과 팀 라이스의 작품 <Aida>(오리지널 네덜란드 프로덕션)에서 스윙으로 시작하여 댄스 캡틴
어시스턴트까지 올라갔다. 그 후 독일로 넘어가 <Aida> 오리지널 독일 프로덕션의 댄스 캡틴이자 Aida 역의
언더스터디로 활동했다. 그녀는 오리지널 한국 프로덕션 및 독일/호주/스위스 투어 프로덕션 셋업에도
참여하였다.
2006년에는 <Wicked> 오리지널 런던 프로덕션의 댄스 캡틴으로 웨스트엔드에 데뷔했으며 2007년 독일로 돌아가
오리지널 슈투트가르트 캐스트에서 스윙/댄스캡틴으로 공연했다. 2010년에 암스테르담으로 돌아간 마리아는 벤
엘튼의 <We Will Rock You>에서 스윙/댄스캡틴을, 2011년에는 <Miss Saigon>에서 Gigi 역 스윙/언더스터디를
맡는다. 2012년에는 네덜란드를 투어한 <Soul Celebration>에서 처음으로 안무를 맡았다. 2013년에는 <Legally
Blonde>(오리지널 오스트리아 캐스트)에서 댄스캡틴, 스윙이자 Pilar 역의 언더스터디를 맡았으며, <Get
Got>(2013 에딘버러 프린지)에서 조연출을 맡았다. 2014년에는 <Miss Saigon>의 웨스트엔드 리바이벌에서
앙상블/댄스캡틴 어시스턴트로 활동했으며, 2016년 <Matilda> (Cambridge Theatre)에서 앙상블 및 Mrs. Phelps
언더스터디로 공연했다.
Maria made her professional debut in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida (original Dutch production), as a swing and eventually moving up to Assistant Dance Captain. Maria then moved to Germany as Dance Captain for the original German production, and also understudied the part of Aida. She assisted in setting up the original South Korean production and the German/Austrian/Swiss touring productions. In 2006 she made her West End debut as the Dance Captain in the Original London Cast of Wicked and in 2007 went back to Germany as swing/Dance Captain in the Original Stuttgart Cast. In 2010 Maria moved back to Amsterdam as swing/Dance Captain in Ben Elton’s We Will Rock You, followed by swing/understudy Gigi in Miss Saigon in 2011. She choreographed her first show, Soul Celebration, which toured Holland, in 2012. In 2013, she was Dance Captain, swing and understudy Pilar in Legally Blonde(Original Austrian Cast) and Assistant Director on Get Got (Edinburgh Fringe 2013). In 2014 Maria was ensemble/Assistant Dance Captain for the West End revival of Miss Saigon before joining the cast of Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre in 2016 as ensemble and understudy Mrs. Phelps.
